Long-Term Care Insurance

Long-Term Care Insurance, Long Term Care Planning, Betsy ReedI am the long-term care specialist at Reed Financial Planning Services in Glastonbury, CT. I have been awarded the distinction of Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC) and I am certified to sell long-term care insurance approved by the Connecticut Partnership for Long-Term Care. I have been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years and use that experience combined with my training to design a long-term care policy that suits your specific needs.

We are living longer and with a longer life expectancy comes the increased chance of needing long-term care. Extended care is a life-changing event that will impact the life of a loved one by requiring them to change the way they conduct their own life, family and career. Not only does this affect the caregivers but it can greatly impact your finances when capital is invaded to help pay for care. Assets and money intended for heirs or charities may be surrendered to pay for care.

70% of Americans age 65 will need LTC at some point in their life1. Most people want to age in place. They would prefer to stay at home where they are most comfortable. Having a long-term care policy in place may allow you to do just that. Comprehensive policies today help cover skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, adult daycare and homecare. There are many different options that allow for various ways to fund a long-term care policy. Along with traditional policies, a newer plan called a hybrid allows for a death benefit, return of premium and even a residual death benefit if all long-term care benefits are exhausted.

I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your unique situation. Together with careful planning we can develop a policy to help protect you and your family should you need long-term care.
